@stigatle@activitypub.taildad4ee.ts.net fair enough, but I think this isn’t a big issue anymore. We have good (great!) opensource models, we can train and run it on our own. Sure, this shifts the resources to the local site, but it’s probably just a matter of time and further optimizations until this is just something normal. Someone here mentioned the economical aspects which also take place here more and more (which I don’t cover as this can quickly lead into completely different discussions and is out of topic for me - but they’re of course valid!).However, you can already operate your own trained model for coding with Claude, Codex etc. locally… And I think this is the only reasonable way when working in enterprises without leaking sensible data to externals. But even this needs gates, as it can still operate on its own with external services it might think that are worth to be used.
