https://billboard.bsd.cafe/topic/35a00513-4ebe-4a50-b509-0588e1475ee5/sylve-is-now-in-the-freebsd-ports-tree/6 (post 6) originated as a post in BSD Cafe.

The original post includes an angle bracket-enclosed link to another post of mine in the Cafe.

When I first clicked the link, in Billboard, it failed to show the linked post. I can't recall exactly what appeared (sorry) but it was probably between 11:40 and 11:45 UTC; within the last fifteen minutes. IIRC the response was as if the linked post does not exist.

    A second attempt succeeded.

    Additional details to follow.

This screenshot of a notification reminds me that someone else reported an inability to open the link.

My response to the report was made privately at https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@grahamperrin/116333909662773851 (the second screenshot below). At the time, I was unaware of Billboard.

      • 08:21 UK = 07:21 UTC = 09:21 Rome.

The bug is reproducible, but not consistently.

It could easily be a local issue. I have a dizzying array of extensions, just one might be relevant.

With Firefox in safe mode, NLI (not logged in), I don't get the bug. The link goes direct from Billboard to the Cafe, without the forewarning:

You are now leaving BSD Cafe Billboard

With my default Firefox profile, logged in and using the Personal container, https://billboard.bsd.cafe/post/https%3A%2F%2Fmastodon.bsd.cafe%2Fusers%2Fgrahamperrin%2Fstatuses%2F116332441399557860 is currently bugged, I see the horse.

If I open a new tab in the same window, not contained, then go to the same URL, I do get the forewarning:

You are now leaving BSD Cafe Billboard

I also get the forewarning if I use the context menu to open the URL in a different container, such as Shopping.

          I use this recommended extension:

          • Firefox Multi-Account Containers

I wonder which browser @gta1998 used when he had the problem a few hours ago.

or the otter … I guess that other random animals can appear at the Not Found screen.
