I think I will start off with start with some kind introduction, then.

Hej, tionisla here, at your service.

some might have met me on my mastodon.bsd.cafe account. Not working in IT but if I'm not professionally working with children and their families I like to tinker with computers. Some of my friends call me a nerd, and I have to confess I think they are somewhat right. Although I'd describe it just being curious and liking to learn and doing stuff with hard- and software. Recently lost my wife to cancer, so I might sound gloomy from time to time but also just got a grandchild I'm really happy about. Based in northern Germany, living between the two seas. Enjoying a good tea.

Started off with my interest in computers by gaming on a Atari VCS. Learned to programm on my Atari 800XL and a C64 of a friend in BASIC and later in 65xy assembler. Got my Amiga 500, learned to code in m68k, C etc, dabbled with Dpaint and Soundtracker. First PC was a P90, installed Slackware on it and used various different Linux Distros from there. Switched to *BSDs about three years ago. Tried FreeBSD, felt right at home again (having fond memories of Slackware), met nice and helpful people and now happily running a Free- and OpenBSD on (even older) Hardware.

I contributed and coded for UADE/Unix Amiga Delitracker Emulator - a music player engine for old Amiga music file formats using emulation for replaying them nowadays on *Nix, Mac and other OS. I guess I arrived full circle there too.

oh, the handle derived from the old Elite - space sim and is the name of one of the star systems of the soc "Old Worlds": "This world is very notable for its inhabitants' innate shyness". The user icon is accordingly a Cobra MK3 from the Oolite Remake.

Right on, stay safe and nice to meet you.

I second it. Might be a good idea to avoid clutter. Feel free to experiment moving my post around. It was just to populate the lounge.
